#FarewellEP at the 7s

The rain kept away and the sun shone down as the curtain closed one final time for the Sale Sharks at Edgeley Park before the final move to Salford City Stadium.

The occasion was celebrated with the J. P. Morgan's Round 2 7's with Sale Sharks, new boys London Welsh, Leicester Tigers and Northampton Saints all taking part.

With the Printerland and MBNA stands packed, I opted for the elements in the ye olde faithful BMI stand to watch my final game at EP. With me was Miz, a fan of rugby, who never really got round the watching regular rugby. I think that is about to change!

I have never been to a 7's match series and I really enjoyed it. Its so fast! And when players get a break, they sure as hell show their pace, with sometimes running the full length of the pitch to score a try!

London Welsh new boys were the only team to win all of their matches.

After a rusty start against the Welsh, the Sale Sharks lads dominated play in their other matches, showing true pace and up and coming young talent. Once again showing that next season is going to be a belter!

One of the highlights for me was the passing. There was an amazing blind off load from one of the Tiger players during their first game against Saints. There was so much power in the one handed pass, it just showed skills as it flew fast and true into the arms of his team mate. Skills!

During one of the intervals, interviews on the pitchside got one with new signing, Richie Gray. Even from a distance, you can tell, that fella is tall! Even made Steve Hanely look titchy! Nice to hear the Scottish accent coming from the PA system :)
