Book Cover

Everyone judges a book by it's cover. I know you're not suppose to, but its hard not to. Like they say, first impressions count.
Same with people.

In the case of Danny Cipriani, he suffers from Pretty Face Syndrome. People quite simply like to look at him. This breads interest, public acclaim, everyone wants a piece of him, especially the annoying Synopsis Writing Tabloids. Give the guy a break! He's only 24 and hey, we all make mistakes in our life, but most of us don't have a camera pointing at us all the time.

In my opinion, Danny is in a similar situation to Leonardo DiCaprio. He did Titanic and everyone swooned. Always in the teen magazines and everyone just saying how pretty he is. But what about the acting? That just got ignored. Now Leo had a great career plan, avoid the commercial teen flicks (OK- he did do the awful Man in the Iron Mask). Personally, it wasn't until I seen him in the likes of Catch Me If You Can, that the realisation started to become clear: This guy can act! Which hasn't changed... Aviator, Shutter Island, Inception etc, etc... People think of him now as An Actor NOT just a pretty face!

This, is what from his radio interview today on TalkSport, looks like Danny is going to do. Let the skills on the field shut the doubters up! He has his eyes on the prize, and its not being on the cover of The Sun. It's winning rugby matches. And for a Sale Sharks supporter, that quite alright by me!

Like he says in his interview, people haven't heard about himself from himself, so how on Earth are they to look at him fairly? Give him a chance! Just looking at his twitter account he wins me over, just by the way he tweets to his fans, answering questions and saying stuff like this "Remember that u are the sperm that won the race... "

Basically, all I'm trying to say is "Good Luck Danny! I look forward to seeing you play :)"

NB: Read the book, not just the cover!
